“I learned you don’t have to be afraid to make mistakes.” – Student Participant
To make their radio shows, students assign roles to their peers including producers, hosts, set technicians, talent, writers and crew. Students brainstorm and suggest what subjects would be interesting in their radio show, and how to tell their stories without the benefit of visual elements from television.
With discipline, passion and focus, students learn that they can succeed at anything they attempt. Students also studied the technique of improvisation, and were taught that in performances – and in life – mistakes happen, and it is in dealing with mistakes that people succeed.
